BUCKLAND Athletic made ‘hard work’ of their 3-2 win over Welton Rovers on Saturday, according to Head Coach Dan Hart.

‘Saturday was a game which felt like it was never going to be an attractive one,’ he said.

‘Welton did well to get the game on but the pitch was so tough to play any football on. We kept getting ourselves caught by a high line and we should’ve done better to counteract that.

‘Welton punished us well and we had to do it the hard way to get back in front by half-time, which we did. Ryan Bush scored twice and extended that to a hat-trick in the second half.

‘I was pleased to see us go 3-1 up but when we conceded again we looked like we were going to make hard work of the game but, on reflection, Welton only had three shots and scored two goals.’
